NASHUA, N.H. (AP) - Police in Nashua a 63-year-old man who was found on the side of a road was hit by a car.

Nashua police say they responded to a call about an unresponsive man lying on the side of the road about 7:30 Sunday night.

They arrived to find Robert Derome, who they say had no known address. Derome was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy determined he had severe injuries to his head and pelvis.

Police say they don’t know who was driving the car, which left the scene after striking Derome.

Police are asking anyone traveling in the area of West Hollis Street between 7 and 7:30 Sunday night to contact them.
