PHOENIX (AP) - Several recent attempts to abduct children in a west Phoenix neighborhood have prompted police to increase patrols in the area.

KPHO-TV (https://bit.ly/1epCS1K ) reports that the most recent attempt occurred Thursday evening when two men followed an 11-year-old girl who then rode to a friend’s house and called 911.

Sgt. Trent Crump says the vehicle sped away when a family friend of the girl approached it.

Police say a passenger inside the vehicle matches a description of a suspect in two previous incidents.

The other incidents occurred Feb. 6 and Feb. 18. Different vehicles were involved.
