AMES, Iowa (AP) - Ames police are investigating a series of reports in which a man randomly punched people in the face and ran to a waiting getaway car.
Two assaults were reported on Feb. 16 and another Saturday night.
The victims report walking outdoors in a public place when a man quickly approached, punched them in the face and fled.
KCCI TV reports (https://bit.ly/1plRdoQ ) Iowa State University sophomore Tony Behnke says he had a concussion when he was hit and fell to the ground. He said the assailant and his accomplices laughed as they got into a car and left.
Another man hit the same night suffered a broken jaw.
Ames police say the man involved was black, about 6 feet tall with dreadlocks, possibly with yellow or highlighted tips.
