LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities are identifying an off-duty Las Vegas police officer found dead in a casino parking garage with an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound as 44-year-old Harold Byron Twigg.

The Clark County coroner said Monday that a cause of death is pending.

North Las Vegas police are investigating after Twigg was found dead about 11 p.m. Friday in a parking structure at the Fiesta Rancho Casino.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1gxv5BC ) that Twigg had attended a retirement party for former Las Vegas police Capt. David O’Leary.

O’Leary retired following an investigation of a private ride in a police helicopter for a rock star’s wedding proposal.

Twigg had been a Las Vegas police officer since 1997.

His wife, Stacy Twigg, has been a Las Vegas police officer since 2000.
