BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (AP) - A federal prison inmate in southern West Virginia has been sentenced to an additional six months for marijuana possession.

Thirty-four-year-old Boris Bynum was sentenced Monday in federal court in Bluefield.

Bynum is an inmate at the Federal Correctional Institution near Welch. Prosecutors say he pleaded guilty in September to having several balloons containing marijuana last June.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons conducted the investigation.
