NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (AP) - A 16-year-old boy has made a plea deal in the stabbings of two Nebraska Youth Center employees in North Platte.

Jordan Baker, of Hastings, pleaded no contest on Monday to felony assault and use of a deadly weapon. Prosecutors reduced the charges in return for Baker’s pleas. His sentencing is scheduled for April 28.

Prosecutors say Baker and 18-year-old Keenan Lambert stabbed Diana Johns and Robin Schneider on July 8, stole an employee’s vehicle and fled. They were captured later that day in Dawson County.

Lambert has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and other felonies. His trial is scheduled to begin on March 11.
