LANSING, Mich. (AP) - An Ingham County judge has ordered more psychological examinations for a former township official who twice confessed in court to killing his father.

Fifty-year-old Greg Basolo of Meridian Township admitted to the killing at a Feb. 12 district court hearing to decide if there was enough evidence to hold a trial.

On Wednesday, Basolo made another confession, telling Circuit Judge Rosemarie Aquilina he “did murder” his father.

Seventy-nine-year-old Peter Basolo was shot Oct. 25 at the Lansing-area condo he shared with his son.

Police say the ex-township assessment review board member told them he was angry because his father re-established contact with relatives who Greg Basolo says sexually assaulted him in the past.

Greg Basolo says he’ll cooperate in an exam to see if he could be held criminally responsible.
