South Dakota man found dead in parking lot

MITCHELL, S.D. (AP) - Police in southeast South Dakota say a 58-year-old man has been found dead in a parking lot.

The Argus Leader (https://argusne.ws/N92wSr ) reports authorities say a motorist who passed by the parking lot in Mitchell called police Thursday morning.

The caller reported seeing a man lying face down in the parking lot, which is located across the street and to the east of the city’s famous Corn Palace.

Lt. Don Everson with the Mitchell Police Department says there were no signs of foul play. He says an autopsy is being conducted to determine the cause and manner of death.

The man’s identity is being withheld pending family notification.
