TACOMA, Wash. (AP) - A Tacoma, Wash., police spokeswoman says an officer used a patrol car to intentionally hit a man who tried to run away.
Spokeswoman Loretta Cool said the man, believed to be about 25, was taken to a hospital Wednesday night after complaining of leg pain. She did not know his condition.
The News Tribune reports (https://is.gd/evZk7A ) that Cool said she did not immediately know why the officer approached the man but she said a gun from the man was recovered at the scene. He ran a few blocks after he was hit.
The spokeswoman says the officer will be on administrative leave while the use of force is investigated.
