SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) - Authorities have arrested a man they believe is the “Apologetic Bandit” - so-called because he said he was sorry while robbing 10 Orange County gas stations and convenience stores.

City News Service says 19-year-old Farhad Sharifi was arrested before dawn Friday after a holdup in Lake Forest. The Aliso Viejo man remains jailed Monday.

Sheriff’s officials say deputies responding to a robbery at a 7-Eleven store in Santa Ana followed a car and then arrested Sharifi after a foot chase. A replica gun and a mask were found.
