CLARENDON, N.C. (AP) - Authorities are investigating the shooting death of a Clarendon man.
Capt. David Nobles of the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office says 29-year-old Richard Jason McPherson was found dead in a car at about 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. He had been shot in the chest, and Nobles says deputies think the shooting happened about a mile away.
McPherson was taken to a hospital in Loris, S.C., where he was pronounced dead.
An autopsy was expected to be done on Monday, and no arrests have been made.
