WESTMINSTER, Vt. (AP) - Vermont State Police say they made several unrelated drug arrests along Interstate 91 in Westminster over the weekend, including one in which nearly 700 bags of heroin were found under a car seat cushion of a 5-year-old girl.
Police said they jailed 33-year-old Eugenia Emerson of Springfield on felony charges of heroin trafficking after the bags of heroin were found under a rear seat cushion where her daughter was seated.
Emerson was initially stopped for defective equipment and a lane violation in Westminster on Saturday night. A police dog alerted a trooper to possible drugs inside the car.
