A Houston furniture store has to pay out $7 million after it promised customers it would give full refunds if the Seattle Seahawks took the Super Bowl.

Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale said that he would give a full refund to customers who spent $6,000 or more at Gallery Furniture in the two weeks leading up to the game, ABC News reported.

The Seahawks beat the Denver Broncos 48-8 on Sunday night. Gallery Furniture updated its website to say in big, bold letters: “Customers win $7,000,000.”

“The accountant is pulling his hair out this morning, but the customers are happy and that’s what’s most important,” Mr. McIngvale said. “It worked for making the customer say, ‘This guy does what he says he’s going to do.’ “

The owner said at least 1,000 customers will receive an average of $7,000 in refunds, which will be delivered during a celebratory party at the store on Feb. 17, ABC News reported.
