ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - The state medical investigator found that a man involved in a police chase and shooting in Albuquerque last October was shot eight times and didn’t have illegal drugs in his system.

The Albuquerque Journal (https://bit.ly/1brd4Fd ) reports that 35-year-old Christopher Chase’s autopsy found that his gunshot wounds included four in the neck and one to the front of his head near the scalp.

The toxicology report says results on tests for marijuana, methamphetamine, cocaine and opiates were negative.

Police have said officers fired at Chase. He shot four officers during the 16-mile chase that ended when the police car he was driving slammed it into a gas pump.

All the officers survived, but a sheriff’s deputy was badly wounded.
