DECATUR, Ill. (AP) - A former U.S. Marine recruiter pleaded guilty Tuesday to killing two women in central Illinois in 2011 and seriously wounding a third woman.

Timothy Giles, 30, pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder, The (Decatur) Herald and Review reports (https://bit.ly/1gJS5lG). He is accused in the stabbing and shooting deaths of Cindanette Eaton, 57, and her daughter, Lindsey Eaton, 23, at their Harristown home.

Casey Eaton, Cindanette Eatson’s daughter, was injured in the attack. Giles and Casey Eaton, 27, were involved in a custody dispute.

At the time, Giles worked as a Marine recruiter in Centralia. The Marine Corps has since discharged him. Giles was arrested by a special deputy U.S. marshal, just hours after Casey Eaton called 911, prosecutors said.

Giles has been held in the Macon County jail on $5 million bond. He is to be sentenced April 4 during a hearing that is to include testimony from victims and family members.

Harristown is just west of Decatur.
