GONZALES, La. (AP) - Sheriff’s deputies have arrested three people in the fatal shooting of an Ascension Parish man in St. Amant.

The Advocate reports (https://bit.ly/1lynoC4 ) a sheriff’s deputy found the body of 37-year-old Fred Martin Jr. in a St. Amant driveway on Friday night while the deputy was on his way to answering a resident’s call about a nervous man stalking a nearby street.

Chief Deputy Tony Bacala said that “nervous” man, 57-year-old Barry Lee Diggs, of New Orleans, was booked with first-degree murder.

Bacala says Diggs had gone with Martin to the St. Amant home of Dana Milano and Louis Topham.

Milano and Topham were booked Monday on counts of being principals to first-degree murder, possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

It was unclear whether those arrested have attorneys.
