MERIDIAN, Miss. (AP) - The Lauderdale County Board of Supervisors has transferred $75,000 to budget of the East Mississippi Drug Task Force.

Lauderdale County Sheriff Billy Sollie says the task force is getting federal money but is roughly half of what it was in 2013.

Despite the funding decrease, Sollie says the task force is still working countywide but is down to five agents from 11 that it had at the beginning of 2013. The city of Meridian pulled its three officers off the task force last year.

Sollie told supervisors Monday that the task force currently consists of an administrative assistant, a major, a lieutenant and three agents.
