ST. LOUIS (AP) - Winter weather is prompting Missouri education officials to postpone a St. Louis public hearing about plans for struggling schools.

State education officials scheduled the hearing to get public input on proposals to improve unaccredited school districts. The Normandy and Riverview Gardens districts in St. Louis County are among the state’s three unaccredited school systems.

The state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education said Tuesday that the public hearing instead will be held Wednesday at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Officials already have held a hearing in Kansas City and plan more later this week in Springfield and in Sikeston.
