BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - A 19-year-old man has been charged with burglarizing two stores in the Vermont city of Burlington last month.

Police say the door of Kerry’s Kwik Stop and windows at Radio Deli were smashed in in January and large amounts of cigarettes, beer and food were stolen.

Police identified suspect William Slingerland of Burlington after an investigation. Slingerland was arrested Monday on two counts of burglary, unlawful mischief and possession of stolen property. He was being held on $5,000 bail.

It was not immediately known if he was being represented by an attorney.
