GREELEY, Colo. (AP) - Prosecutors have filed charges of attempted murder and assault against a man accused of repeatedly stabbing a co-worker in the face at an oil and gas operation northeast of Greeley.

The Greeley Tribune reports (https://tinyurl.com/qfybwz5 ) the charges were filed Tuesday against 34-year-old David Baldizan.

Baldizan is being held in the Weld County jail. He hasn’t entered a plea, and online records didn’t indicate whether he has a lawyer.

He’s accused of stabbing 20-year-old Uriah James Anthony Lopez five times in the face on Jan. 30. Lopez told authorities he had been sleeping and woke up to someone stabbing him.

Bail is set at $500,000. Balidizan’s next court appearance is Feb. 13.
