ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (AP) - A mall in St. Johnsbury, Vt., is cleaning after a water line gave way and flooded the area.

Authorities say an estimated 1,500 gallons per minute saturated the Green Mountain Mall for about two hours Monday night before the line could be isolated and closed.

Building supervisor Jay Matthews tells WCAX-TV (https://bit.ly/1jc5jb6) when he first got to scene, he opened a door and the water just gushed out. He said he thought he was in a swimming pool.

About a dozen storefronts have been affected, including the office that houses the NEK Chamber of Commerce.
