BRUNSWICK, Maine (AP) - A federal judge has ordered a Brunswick hotel to change its name, affirming a jury’s decision in a legal dispute between two similarly-named inns in town.

The decision Tuesday says The Inn at Brunswick Station must change its name by April 4.

The inn was sued by the Brunswick Inn, which alleged the similar names confused customers and even the fire department.

A federal jury ruled in favor of the Brunswick Inn in December.

A lawyer for Brunswick Station filed a motion asking the judge to reverse that decision.

He tells the Portland Press Herald (https://bit.ly/1b1qkm9 ) he’s disappointed in the judge’s ruling and is considering an appeal.

The Brunswick Inn opened in 1984 and has been operating under its current name since 2007. The Inn at Brunswick Station opened in 2011.
