NEW YORK (AP) - Hundreds of flights have been canceled at New York City’s area airports due to snow and freezing rain.

The flight-tracking website FlightAware reports more than 50 percent of flights canceled at Newark Liberty International Airport.

Over 40 percent have been canceled at LaGuardia Airport and 36 percent at John F. Kennedy Airport.

Passengers are advised to check with their airline before heading out to the airport.
