BILOXI, Miss. (AP) - Facing a possible tie vote, Biloxi’s baseball stadium was pulled off Tuesday night’s Biloxi Council agenda and will be taken up at special meeting next week.

Five resolutions, including a vote on a $21 million bond to build the stadium, were removed from the agenda at the start of the meeting.

Councilman Felix Gines is on duty with the National Guard this week and David Nichols, the city’s chief administrative officer, said he couldn’t vote by phone without a five day notice.

The council consistently has voted 5-2 on previous baseball resolutions, but Council President Paul Tisdale said he has two issues with the contract over damages and the trees.

The Sun Herald reports the council has scheduled a vote next Tuesday.
