NEW YORK (AP) - Three New York City men have been arrested and charged with impersonating a police officer after being pulled over with guns and police radios in their car.

Police said Thursday officers in Brooklyn pulled a car over for running a red light Tuesday when they heard police scanners coming from the car.

Police say officers then saw a passenger kick a gun under the seat and arrested the men. They say a search uncovered two loaded handguns and five police radios.

The men were also charged with menacing and harassment.

Police say an investigation found that one of the men was already wanted for showing what appeared to be a police shield and a gun to a 45-year-old man last month, making him fear for his safety.
