DARLINGTON, La. (AP) - Louisiana State Police say a 47-year-old Mississippi man was killed in a two-vehicle accident in St. Helena Parish.

Trooper Greg Marchand says a pickup driven by Thomas Harrison of Paulding, Miss., crossed the centerline of La. Highway 10 near Darlington Wednesday afternoon and hit an 18-wheeler.

Marchand says Harrison was pronounced dead on the scene by the St. Helena Parish Coroner’s Office and the driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.

He says Harrison was properly restrained at the time of the crash and alcohol use is suspected.
