MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. (AP) - Authorities in one suburban Detroit community say they hope surveillance photos taken during a robbery at a 7-Eleven convenience store leads to arrests.

Madison Heights police said Thursday that a store clerk was attacked Wednesday and held down by one man as an accomplice grabbed cartons of cigarettes from a cabinet.

Police say about 10 cartons and numerous loose packs of Marlboro and Newport brands were taken. They say the cigarettes are valued at $600, and the robbers escaped in a minivan.

Police say one of the robbers also is suspected in burglaries Tuesday and Jan. 29 at a Madison Heights doughnut shop. The van in the burglaries also is the one used in Wednesday’s robbery at 7-Eleven.

Madison Heights is north of Detroit.
