FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - A Sedona man is in custody for allegedly stealing a pickup truck and leading northern Arizona authorities on a high-speed chase.
Coconino County Sheriff’s officials say 46-year-old James Capobianco Jr. is being held on suspicion of automobile theft, reckless driving and unlawful flight from a law enforcement officer.
They say he’s also facing charges of aggravated DUI on a suspended license and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a stolen vehicle Tuesday night in Oak Creek Canyon and that led to a chase that ended with Capobainco’s arrest.
Investigators say a female relative of Capobianco’s sold her truck to the victim four months ago and Capobianco allegedly retained a spare set of keys.
It was unclear Thursday if Capobainco has a lawyer yet.
