YORBA LINDA, Calif. (AP) - A 17-year-old girl found stabbed to death in a wealthy Orange County neighborhood was a runaway with a prior arrest for prostitution, authorities said Thursday.

Aubreyanna Sade Parks of Gardena was killed Tuesday and had been reported missing, sheriff’s Lt. Jeffrey Hallock said.

Bicyclists found her body lying over a curb and gutter. She had been stabbed multiple times.

Larry Soo Shin, 35, was charged with murder with special circumstances in her death, the district attorney’s office said.

Shin communicated with Parks and asked her to meet him in Yorba Linda, prosecutors said in a printed statement.

He is being held without bail and faces an initial court appearance Thursday. It wasn’t immediately clear if Shin had retained an attorney.

The homes in the area where Parks was found range in value from $8 to $10 million, Hallock said.

Shin lives about a mile away, in a less wealthy area.
