GRANVILLE, N.Y. (AP) - Two bodies have been removed from the rubble of a burned Washington County home where a couple in their 70s lived, but sheriff’s officials say a positive identification hasn’t been completed.

Firefighters from 16 companies were called early Thursday to the scene about 65 miles northeast of Albany.

Washington County Fire Coordinator Ray Rathbun tells the Glens Falls Post-Star (https://bit.ly/1kZ7JYJ ) two people who lived in the home were missing after it collapsed. The bodies removed from the rubble were taken to Albany Medical Center for an autopsy scheduled Friday.

There’s no indication the fire was suspicious. The cause is still unknown.

Fire officials say snowy conditions likely slowed firefighter response.
