FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (AP) - Three people are accused of stealing bronze vases from a Long Island cemetery.

Suffolk County police say the trio was arrested Friday.

Police responded to Pinelawn Cemetery in Farmingdale on Thursday after receiving a call of a theft in progress there.

They say the three are responsible for stealing numerous bronze vases totaling $53,000.

Police say the thefts occurred on Oct. 1 and 16 and Feb. 5 and 6.

They identified the suspects as Nicholas Giambalvo, Max Schneider and Elizabeth Dono. They face grand larceny and other charges.

Information about their lawyers wasn’t immediately available.
