BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - A restaurant owner in Birmingham is charged with shooting at a customer who complained about finding a roach in her food.
Police say the shooting happened at Good Friend Chinese and Seafood Restaurant. The owner, 52-year-old Chun Hin Ching, is jailed on a charge of attempted murder with bond set at $100,000.
Authorities say a woman reported finding a roach in an egg roll she got at Ching’s restaurant Thursday night.
The man gave the customer a refund. But as she was walking out, he allegedly pulled out a gun and shot at her.
The customer wasn’t injured, and police later arrested the man at the restaurant.
Calls to the restaurant went unanswered Friday night.
