MERIDIAN, Miss. (AP) - A former girls softball coach at Clarkdale High School has been convicted of two counts of exploitation of a child and one count of lustful touching.

A Lauderdale County jury returned the verdicts Thursday against Rick Roberson. Roberson was found not guilty on three other counts. No sentencing date has been announced.

Prosecutors say Roberson allegedly had inappropriate contact with a 10th grade student in 2010 that continued into the 11th grade and made inappropriate comments to a ninth grade student.

An affidavit alleges that in 1984 Roberson had sexual intercourse numerous times with another high school girl who became pregnant.

Roberson, who had coached softball since 1993, was fired after his arrest in 2012.
