ST. LOUIS (AP) - A Fenton dentist has pleaded guilty in federal court to prescription drug fraud.
Dr. Kurt Morgester faces up to four years in prison and a $250,000 fine after pleading guilty Friday in federal court in St. Louis to one felony count of possession of a controlled substance by subterfuge.
Prosecutors say the 46-year-old dentist wrote and picked up prescriptions for the painkiller Oxycodone written in his patients’ names but for which they had no knowledge. He is scheduled to be sentenced in May.
