MIAMI, Okla. (AP) - The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a man changing a tire along the Will Rogers Turnpike was killed when he was struck by a wheel that came off a passing tractor-trailer.

Officials say 54-year-old Terrence James Luxton of Springfield, Mo., died in the accident around 8 a.m. Friday.

The accident report says Luxton was legally parked on the eastbound shoulder while trying to change his left front tire. As the tractor-trailer passed him, the dual right rear tires came off the trailer and one tire struck Luxton. The report says he died at the scene of a head injury.

The truck was driven by 41-year-old Rebecca Lyn Leja of Manton, Mich.
