GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) - A Great Falls man faces several felony charges after his pregnant girlfriend reported he put a gun to her head to get her to sign over parental rights to their unborn child.

Kirk Allen Jordan, 24, made an initial appearance Wednesday in District Court on charges of felony assault with a weapon, two counts of carrying a concealed weapon and possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Court officials say his bail was set at $50,000 and he has requested a public defender. An arraignment has not been scheduled.

The girlfriend told police Jordan came to her apartment Tuesday to pick up his belongings, the Great Falls Tribune reported (https://gftrib.com/1d2T8d1). She said he demanded that she sign away her parental rights and when she refused, he pointed a gun at her head and forced her to write, “I sign my rights over to Kirk of the unborn child.”

The woman said she told Jordan they would work it out just to get him to leave.

The woman was being interviewed at police headquarters when Jordan called her cellphone. The officer asked her to put it on speakerphone, the police report said.

The officer said he could hear a man screaming, saying he was going to get the woman kicked out of her housing. The man also said he was outside her residence and he demanded that she come home, according to police.

Officers responded to the woman’s residence and found Jordan sitting in a vehicle outside with an unloaded .40 caliber gun, a large straight-edge razor, a pair of brass knuckles in his pocket and a small amount of marijuana.

Police say Jordan told them the statement his girlfriend signed was a rough draft of a parenting plan.
