LAS VEGAS (AP) - A 31-year-old man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for shooting a Las Vegas homeowner to death in December 2008 and other charges.

Jesus Jaramillo was sentenced Wednesday in Clark County District Court in the slaying of 30-year-old Abraham Harely at Harely’s southwest Las Vegas home.

A jury found Jaramillo guilty at trial last May of murder, armed robbery, auto theft and other charges.

Records show that prosecutors wanted him sentenced as a habitual offender.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1gUyWxq ) that Jaramillo and two women stayed at Harely’s house for several days, and Jaramillo stole items including Harely’s Mercedes sedan after the shooting.

The jury heard evidence that Jaramillo and others used drugs including a liquid form of the club drug gama-hydroxybutyric, cocaine and ecstasy.
