SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Law enforcement authorities in South Dakota say they suspect a Sioux Falls woman swallowed enough hand sanitizer to get drunk before she allegedly threated to kill her husband with a knife.

Sioux Falls Police say 37-year-old Brooke Lynn Montileaux was arrested on charges of ingesting and aggravated assault domestic.

The Argus Leader (https://argusne.ws/1iyBX3P ) reports police say they found an empty 51-ounce bottle of hand sanitizer at the house where they responded to the emergency on Thursday.

Police say they don’t know how much hand sanitizer Montileaux drank. They say they suspect she ingested it throughout the day.

The woman was transported to a local hospital and later arrested. Information about the woman’s attorney couldn’t be found.

The newspaper reports hand sanitizer usually contains more than 60 percent of alcohol.
