JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - The Sealaska Heritage Institute says it has received a $200,000 grant to go toward construction of the Walter Sobeleff Center in Juneau.

KINY (https://is.gd/sKl6EF) says the grant comes from the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation.

The planned center is named after late Tlingit leader Dr. Walter Soboleff, who died in 2011 at 102. The facility will house a variety of art programs, a retail shop and performance and exhibit spaces.

Sealaska Heritage Institute is the nonprofit cultural and educational arm of Juneau-based Sealaska Corp., a regional Native corporation.
