ST. LOUIS (AP) - A 23-year-old St. Louis man is facing animal abuse charges for allegedly killing a kitten.
Prosecutors say Andres Wiltz brought the injured 5-month-old kitten to a veterinarian in December. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1e732FY ) reports that the vet determined that the animal had chest and kidney bruising, a large tear in its right lung and a broken pelvis and ribs. The kitten had to be euthanized.
Police say Wiltz admitted striking the kitten with an open palm several times to discipline it. He was charged with the felony on Wednesday.
Wiltz was jailed on $10,000 bond and does not yet have a listed attorney.
