URBANA, Ill. (AP) - The University of Illinois will receive $748,000 in state capital funds for road work around the Urbana-Champaign campus.

Gov. Pat Quinn’s office said Thursday the money will repave parts of Sixth Street and Stadium Drive and install bicycle lanes and new traffic signals in both spots.

University Chancellor Phyllis Wise noted the bike lanes in particular will be a welcome addition in what is a busy section of campus.

The money comes from Quinn’s $31 billion Illinois Jobs Now capital construction program.
