NAPLES, Fla. (AP) - A woman has been arrested after a toddler she was caring for was found inside a filthy storage unit with no water and little food.

Collier County Sheriff’s deputies arrested the 44-year-old woman on Wednesday. She faces a felony child neglect charge.

Deputies say they found the woman passed out inside a unit at CubeSmart Storage in Naples. There were two empty bottles of vodka. The Department of Children and Families took custody of the child.

The Naples Daily News (https://bit.ly/1b8fzPc ) reports authorities found flies and gnats buzzing around a bucket being used as a toilet.

The woman told a judge on Thursday that she had been living in shelters until recently and was on a seven-week wait for a room at a mission in Naples.
