SUGARLOAF, Fla. (AP) - Authorities have arrested a man accused of stabbing another man in the Florida Keys who remains in critical condition in the hospital.

Monroe County jail records show 27-year-old Ramon Sanchez was arrested early Saturday morning on multiple charges, including attempted murder, aggravated battery and false imprisonment. He’s being held without bail. Jail records don’t’ list an attorney.

A sheriff’s office statement says Sanchez attacked 30-year-old Yunior Carrazana in the home of an ex-girlfriend. Carrazana was stabbed multiple times and taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries to his upper torso.

The woman told police that Sanchez forced them to stay in the room and they weren’t able to immediately call for help. Sanchez later left but was pulled over and deputies found a bloody knife in his car.
