TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Police say a man found wounded by a shooting outside a Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Tucson has died.

Sgt. Chris Widmer says officers responded to a report of the shooting at the VFW location on South Park Avenue at about 12:52 a.m. Saturday.

Widmer says Tucson firefighters at the scene administered first aid but the 39-year-old man later died at a hospital.

Detectives are investigating and have declined to release any further information.

A message seeking comment from the VFW was not immediately returned Saturday.
