RIVERTON, Wyo. (AP) - A teenager has pleaded guilty to his role in killing a man and beating a woman on a bike trail in Riverton.

The Riverton Ranger reports (https://bit.ly/1d6YMe6 ) 16-year-old John Kalani Potter struck a deal with prosecutors and pleaded guilty Thursday to manslaughter and aiding and abetting aggravated assault.

Potter had been charged with second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder stemming from the early September death of 25-year-old David Ronald Moss Jr., and the beating of Aleeah Crispin. The woman was beaten unconscious and suffered bleeding within her skull that required surgery.



Potter’s co-defendant, Santana Mendoza, who was 16 at the time of the attack, also was charged with second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder. His case hasn’t been resolved.

Both teens were charged as adults.
