FIRTH, Idaho (AP) - A 59-year-old man police say stabbed another man has been taken into custody in eastern Idaho.

The Bingham County Sheriff’s office says police forced their way into a home in Firth after a three-hour standoff on Saturday.

Police say officers made the arrest without injury to the man or officers.

Police say an adult male received a stab round about 4 p.m. Saturday and was taken to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.

Police responded to investigate the stabbing but the suspect barricaded himself in the house.

Names haven’t been released.
