SCHOHARIE, N.Y. (AP) - The Schoharie County Sheriff’s Office says a man was found dead in a car after asking if he could sleep there overnight.

Sheriff Tony Desmond tells the Albany Times Union (https://bit.ly/1ktrREy ) that a 35-year-old man asked someone at a village of Schoharie home if he could sleep in a car parked at the house late Saturday night.

When a person left the house to check on the man shortly before noon Sunday, the man was dead. His name isn’t being released.

Desmond said the cause of death is unknown. An autopsy is planned Monday at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady.
