RIO RANCHO, N.M. (AP) - Authorities in Rio Rancho have temporarily closed a highway after police arrested three robbery suspects in a high-speed chase.

Rio Rancho police say a man reported being robbed at an ATM at 10 a.m.

Police say officers spotted a white sport utility vehicle suspected of being involved but the driver refused to pull over.

Officers then pursued the vehicle from Highway 550 at speeds of more than 100 mph.

They say someone in the car shot at them and police returned fire. The SUV then headed north on Highway 4 and ended up in Jemez Springs.

All three suspects jumped out of the SUV but were captured.

Police say one had a gunshot wound to the arm.

Investigators are rerouting motorists going to and from Jemez Springs on Highway 4.
