MANHASSET, N.Y. (AP) - Police are looking for the thief who broke into a Long Island church, ransacked the pastor’s office and removed a checkbook.

Nassau County police believe the Mount Olive Baptist Church in Manhasset was burglarized sometime between 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Sunday.

They say the thief entered the church through a basement window and stole the church checkbook after breaking the door to the pastor’s office.

Nothing else was taken.

Police ask anyone with information about the incident to call the Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS
