ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Landslides on Tuesday have blocked some roads on Prince of Wales Island as a flood warning remains in effect through early Tuesday evening for much of southeast Alaska.

KTUU reports (https://is.gd/IQUrHV) heavy rainfall and melting snow prompted the warning for urban areas and small streams in the region.

State transportation officials were informed of a landslide between miles 22 and 23 of Coffman Cove Road on Tuesday. Crews were helping clear that when another slide occurred on the Klawock-Hollis Highway near Hollis, on the east side of the island.

Both highways remained blocked Tuesday afternoon. Officials say Whale Pass Road, the main route between Naukati and Whale Pass, has been washed out at Mile 32.

No injuries have been reported.
